Here's a few pics of my 1988 4Runner. Body and Chassis have 253,000 miles. Engine bottom end has 227,000 miles, top end is all new. This truck primarily sees trail duty, I have a pristine/perfect 87 4Runner that never sees the trails.

I'd drive either of them to Alaska if needed....

sdoolin- Cool 4runner! I like the paint job. Have you ever lost a passenger out that gaping rust hole in the rear?

I'd like to take credit for the paint job - but cannot. My neighbor painted the thing (with a spray can or 10) one night after a few drinks. He used to own the thing. I'm gonna have him freshen it up this coming spring with a few more spray cans.

Never lost anyone or anything through the rust hole, but you can see the inside from the outside, and the outside from the inside. If you got mudflaps - use 'em or this can happen to you (I have reinstalled the mudflaps since this rust damage occured)....

my old 1982 parts truck...frame did not have 1 salvageable peice, and i'm usually the one that says anything is repairable, ran like a champ for the PO until he blew a hole in the block, i bought the remains for $150

when i was young and dumb....killed it

my 79 when i wrecked it

my old 4runner crushin my totaled 79 cab

and my old 4runner bout an hour before the junk man took her
that was the last time i listened to my mom on a automotive decision.....

yea i was sad

my mom said i had 2 many trucks out back (only had that and my 79, we have parking for 5 ) and at that time the 4runner had a blow tranny, i needed a daily driver for my 55 mile round trips to school everyday, so she said one of my trucks had to go.....so i picked the 4runner.... pulled the motor/trans/t-case, and put the remains up for sale...nobody was interested in the time i had to get rid of it, so i was left with the only option, junk it.......

believe me, i wanted to keep it, perfect candidate for a 3.4 swap and SAS...but living with parents sux at times, i didn't talk to my mom for about a week and a half after this incident, and i still don't let her live the decision down about it, one of the worst parts about it is that the replacement was a 95 grand chero
