I'm still here just not like I used to be.as for the carb I still have no complaints.I saw a very slight increase of fuel economy.but the most important thing is I jump in it give it 1pump of the gas turn the key and it fires right up 1st crank no matter how hot or cold it is out.and when cruising down the road when u get on it the secondary kicks in smooth as can be and she moves.one thing I did notice it seems to have quite a bit more power when cruising on the highway at 55 when u give it full throttle without downshifting than it ever did with the factory carb

I'm not a fan of Chinese parts either... but am shopping for a replacement carb. Like you mentioned, the Cruiser guys seem to like these so I'm considering one.

Just come across this thread and seen how old it was. I too get concerned when it comes to China made parts but I am glad to see you keeping us updated with how it is working for you. Like you mentioned at the start, you needed it for a period of time and it was a lot cheaper then the auto parts store.

I warned a friend about buying a China part and he is still driving the truck that he put it on. That was 2 years ago, so I am eating some of my words myself.

$400-500 for a rebuilt, not new carb at any of the local auto parts places around here. $200-250 to have someone rebuild it. $40 for the rebuild kit. $250 for a brand new carb doesn't sound that bad given the varying degrees of success folks have at rebuilding them.

Well The china carbs still going strong.I pulled the spark plugs to check them out a few days ago and they looked almost like they did when i put them in just had a bit of a tan color to them which means the mixture adjustment is just right. It was -2 degrees here this morning and i gave her 1 pump of the gas and she fired up the second crank.If i still had the leaky factory carb there was no way it was going to start this morning.it wouldnt start when it as 30 degrees out.it would have flooded out and fouled the plugs.And i hear ya about china made parts i took a chance and it worked out well for me.but hell most parts these days are made in china if not mexico.

Well, I tried my easy bake oven idea. I heated the oven to 250 Fahrenheit and had the carburetor sit in there for about an hour, then I reassembled it with Allen bolts. It still drains out. I had the carburetor loose from its 3 parts. All the Allen-head bolts were in place, yet only threaded on for 2 turns or so, this way the head could penetrate everything.

So, I pulled off that one, reinstalled the new one I bought and then just last week I sold my truck. However, I sold it not because of the gas draining issue. so now I'm Toyota-less.

I had own that truck since day-one.

Even though I sold my toyota in Feb 2014. I though I would still update to help everyone else out with carb problems that are thinking about a made in china replacment carb. I still see the guy I sold my yota to every now and then and he said he has never had any problems at all outta the china carb. rain or shine hot or cold its starts and runs great every time. And he has racked up alot of miles on it since he bought it. So all the arrogant naysayers have been proven wrong. especially the resident ass hole, #1 arrogant sob that just about ruins every informative conversation ThatGuy1295 can kiss my F***ing ass.Thats right ThatGuy1295you were wrong and got called out on it.

Regarding the Chinese carbs, They have had 30 years to figure out how to copy the Aisan ones, so I imagine there's nothing wrong with them. Me personally, I would be nervous ordering from some of those vendors but it sounds like they are legit.

Here's one on eBay for $150 shipped. Considering a rebuild kit is going to be at least $75, the entire carb brand new for twice that is hard to beat.

That is a sweet deal and worth the risk in my opinion. I don't know why rebuild kits are so expensive for these carbs. A two barrel rebuild kit for a ford is $18 and has more parts?
Easiest explanation for fuel drainage into the intake is the power valve jet. I have had rebuild kits with leaky new ones. One easy way to tell is to turn the mixture valve in as its idling. If it can go all the way in or almost all the way without stumbling the power valve is most likely leaking and adding fuel and continues to leak when the bowl has fuel in it.
Its never happened to me with my toyota but has happened on motorcraft two and four barrels. Perhaps buy a higher quality one and see if the leaking stops?

Edit: Looking at the pics of the carb on ebay I just noticed that the wires for electric choke and air valve have the california connector with is kinda square whereas the toyota federal one is round. Simple job of resplicing.
