yep! what a pain!!truck was on a garage for 4 years when i got it,after i finish installing the engine management a better turbo with some other upgrades, start tuning and the trans die,i still havent ride it for 10 feets!!drop the trans, clutch disc peel off, broken plastic washer from center support this particles goes to the throttle valve lowering the press and ended burning direct clutch from the transfer.i put 11 hours in the trans rebuilt, now transfer goes tomorrow but im very tired.

Have you taken a TC off an a340h? Take a look at the post I had in another thread. If you know all this already then good luck and sorry to side track you.

Unless your going to repair some clutch pack of forward or direct drum without touching low/reverse that is all the way back, then you can. But the second most common failure is low/reverse piston seals so yea,i recommend to tear apart the transfercase and also rebuild the direct drum from transfer that is the #1 failure of that transmission.the transfer is very easy.

Been honest don't really know what does it need to be replaced , problem with the transmission is doesn't shift at all , so I'm thinking to take it a part and see what's going on hopefully I can find it .

Shifting is all electric dependant.it only use 2 solenoid to shift, if you look at the wiring diagram ,you can see which wire in the ecu is for shift solenoid A and shift solenoid B. lift the truck from the back safely and put power on one wire and then change to the other, you will feel the transmission shift,if it does, forget about the tranny and your problem is electric.if doesnt, can be solenoids or valve body, but i bet is electric.

Well the problem with my transmission is whenever I start the truck works fine but once I want to put on drive it die and I thought was problem with the transmission itself but I also thought that was an electric problem so I took the solenoid out, and I checked them and I think the converter solenoid supposed to be open all the time and two others supposed to be on and off but the problem is I don't know which one should be if closed or open at the same time and I also don't have a wiring diagram to check it out, so according to what I have research I think converter solenoid should be open all the time and the others two should be either open or closed so I'm not sure how to check those out but I'm probably will check those again and check the vall body and maybe I come with a solution and I don't have to take the transmission apart

The tc solenoid should be off except when ECU commands at higher speeds.if you disconnect the solenoid harness from the tranny it should disable lockup of tc and also the shifting.if it still keep stalling or killing the engine can be lockup valve is stuck open or a defective torque converter.

so you mean disconnecting from outside of the trany, or the selenoid on the valve body?
