A340-H Accumulator Spring Help!
Well, as luck would have it, I was in the process of very gingerly pulling off my valve body when WHAM! I lost my grasp on the damn thing and parts went flying. In my [read:feeble] attempt to do this ever-so-carefully as to be able to put the right parts back into the right holes is now a semi-fiasco.
I have the 4 springs from the 3 accumulators and am in dire need of help in locating their rightful homes once again. I have a couple of ATSG manuals but not quite as specific as the one for my 1990 Toyota A340H. I have a manual for an AW4 and the trans out of a Supra 7MGE but the springs are not the same that I can tell
I DO NOT have blocker rods inside of the springs. I have one piston with a blue painted short spring on the top and I have a piston with a pink shortie on the top. The loose springs I have are a larger diameter, longer "blue" painted spring, the same in a "white" paint and a "yellow" painted long one with a natural color one that looks to be maybe the inner spring for the yellow. I'm pretty sure the double springs go into the very front overdrive clutch piston but am not clear on the wire diameter nor the free length of the appropriate springs for the appropriate locations.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanx,
Bud

Here is a detailed write-up on replacing the VB on a 2001 Tacoma, maybe it is about the same :
