ok.

I've found that a top shift transfer case from a w56a/b will bolt to a forward shift transmission (w56c/d) and work fine- but will need some fairly simple mods to the plate to blockoff the transfer case lever position on the transmission: for some reason, my post about that was moved to the newbie section- dont know

I've purcased a b with top shift tcase and will be installing that soon, probly sunday, avoiding issues with a/b & c/d use.

dual case setup is probly a few months off from doing if it even happens.

trans work is starting tomorrow, 12/22.

i'm not doing a dual case setup so the top shift case attached to the trans (w56b) being replaced will be available for someone else to use. We're going to be doing the work just north of Tukwila, WA, so if you want it and are in the area claim it. I have a friend going to Cali over the weekend so if you live not far off the 5 between seattle and stockton and want it say so soon.

Otherwise, the local wrecker will end up with it and i'd hate for that to happen.

Believe it or not AAMCO sometimes buys these for parts. I got a few bucks for my spare trans that rather than nothing at from a wrecker.
