What does bump for fix mean? And i checked the coil and tried unplugging the egr. The coil is good and the egr didn't help.

i didnt want this thread to die, i was hoping someone would post some good info or ideas.

anyways i talked to my uncle and he said to check the wiring on the water temp sensor.

its the one on the front of the engine with a green plug.

so ill go check that and report back with my findings.

Wiring harness for injectors? There is a crimp way up in the harness that goes bad. I have been fortunate in that regard; never had to fix one. But it is a known issue.

Where exactly is the crimp in the injector wiring? I am supposed to go on a wheeling trip this weekend and my truck will only drive at an idle. Any gas and it wants to die.

My wiring for the injectors comes from below the manifold. Would this make my truck sputter the way it is because I am pretty sure all the injectors are working. I don't have a noid light but i listened to them with a stethoscope and they all sound like they are working.

They could be working but intermittent connections in the harness could cause inconsistant injection and a misfire.

That really does sound like TPS. Could be something else, but reverify everything with the TPS first.

I already replaced the tps, and am 98% sure it is adjusted right. On 4 crawlers site, test 1, 4 and 5 checked out fine. Test 2 I only got .08, but it is still less than 2.3k. Test 3 got infinite like it should, and anywhere past that point remained infinite. This is the first throttle position sensor I have had to do, but I am fairly sure its right.

I just pulled the plug on the tps to test again and got 0.0 on test 2 (idl-e2 with .57 mm feeler guage)

well just to rull one more thing out, i replaced my ecu which did not fix the problem the only thing that i can think of is a problem with the wiring, i still havnt check the wiring for the water temp sensor so im going to do that tomorrow on my day off. ill let you know if that is bad and if i fix it ill let you know if it fixes the problem.

im starting to get discouraged with this thing, ive spent over 150 bucks on parts trying to fix it. and its been this way since ive owned it which has been about 6 months now.

I had a mechanic look at my truck and he said that the timing chain guide broke and the chain jumped a tooth.

oh that sucks, i dont think thats the problem with mine because if i unplug the ecu and then plug it back in the problem is gone for a few mins of driving until the computer remembers the issue.

I figured out how to fix it! I got a new truck lol. I scored a super clean 89 4 runner for $800. I know everyone hates the 3.0 but my fiancee's truck is a v6 and I love it.
