Once i get my gasket set in and put it back together then i will start checking the vacuum lines. Most were held on with zip ties so that might be it.

low compression

You probably solved this issue a long time ago, but it is your valve adjustment...these cars need a valve adjustment every 60K miles. That's why your compression is low on all cylinders....should be 145-170 psi on the 3VZe motor.

similar issue...I found a disconnected hose

It connects at the Gas Vapor return canister on the left rear of the engine bay. The one connected that is the return is properly connected. The other rubber tube is free hanging in the engine compartment. I recently replaced the heater bypass tube on the 3.0 located on the rear of the engine. My Manual I purchased does not show where to look to connect it. I do smell fuel faintly....I think I saw a diagram showing that it connects just next to the heater bypass...any pictures/diagrams/or links anyonie can toss my way would be awesome....

1990 V6 3.slow automatic with 279k (100 since rebuild) 12k on rebuilt Transmission....

(ignore the arrow).

You probably broke off one of the nipples on the Thermal Vacuum Valve (look inside the free end of the hose). Do a search here and you can find people who have successfully fixed it, or just shell out $55 and replace it. (Yes, that is the source of the fuel smell.)
