The blue is much easier on the eyes at night, I'm already liking them much better. Could stand to be a little brighter, but oh well. I might think about an LED conversion later, but for 5 bucks and 20 minutes, it's perfect. 5 Internet Points for the OP!

Dude said they'd had some trouble with customers returning bulbs because they were failing inspection. I don't know how an inspection tech is supposed to be able to see whether my dash lights are even working, in the middle of the day, but I keep a screwdriver in the glovebox and I tossed the old bulbs in there. I'll swap back out in the parking lot if I have to. They love that.

Mine have been dim for a while so I decided I was going to try to just pull the green covers off first. I wanted to take it apart and see how many bulbs I would need. (92 Pickup w/tach 4 168s 11 total 74s but really only 2 RT and LT need replacement. Some where for options I do not even have.)
After pulling them off I could clearly see they were burned.
Got lucky and had some clear 168s in my tool box. Made a huge difference in brightness. I just need to buy some new clear 74s now. They sell them at Walmart.

Philbert, I am going to be sending you a bill for a new laptop computer.........
While reading this thread, near the beginning I, having done similar things years back on old V8 hot rods, decided to watch your Youtube video to possibly help you "analyze" your intermitten light.................
As I proceded to watch and listen to your desciption I took a sip of my coffee only to SPIT MY MOUTHFUL OUT all over my computer as I laughed so hard I couldnt breathe while you banged on the dash in an ATTEMPT to fix it only to, as I have many times, realize YOU'RE ONLY MAKING IT WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
On second thought, I'll clean the computer off and reverse my earlier thought of sending you the bill.......the laugh I had was WAY worth it!

lol I completely forgot about that video....just re watched it - with no coffee. "well that didn't see to do the trick"
It *was* just that the bulb carrier prong needed to be bent so that it contacted properly. No flickering since - been a great mod and I would do it over again!

^^^looks futuristic, pretty cool, did you use LED's? I like the matching inclinometer! I want to do this, my problem is picking a color, lol. I have Glow Shift water temp, oil pressure and volts gauges, and they have 7 different colors you can switch between, it's hard to choose one!

Inclinometer bulb swap
I need to change the bulb for my inclinometer, but have never touched the thing. I’m mainly trying to avoid mangling it - so I was wondering what all you had to do to get to the bulb to swap it out?
