1993 4x4 Center Support Bearing Skid Plate Replacement Bolt Size
I had to drop the gas tank on my 1993 4X4 pickup and to have enough room to drop the tank I had to remove the drive shaft center bearing skid plate. Unfortunately, the bolts sheared off and I had to drill out the bolt holes. The threads are still intact so I was looking to replace them. Are these just standard M8 size (8mm with 1.25mm thread width)? My plan B is just a set of bolts that are small enough in diameter to push through and secure with matching nut and lock washers. I’m thinking there are folks who simply don’t put the skid plate back on after shearing off the bolts and I suppose that can be plan C. It’s rust city underneath and you do what you can do. The good news is I was able to fix the gas leak as it was a rotted out fuel return line.

I can’t recall what size they are but I would say that they’re 8mm but I think they were a fine thread and they might have been like a taping screw if I remember correctly
