This Alts are NOT the same size. The Jag is significantly bigger and heavier but the mounts are the same. This alt will barley clear the radiator hose because of its larger size, but it will clear.
I went with your suggestion, but my mechanic said the the plug is different?

Don't know what to tell you... mine was an identical plug and have ran it for years with no issue.

It's plug and play... both alternators have the same Denso plugs and the terminals are the same. I only had to taper the pulley for it to go in.

Are the terminals the same? my reading indicates that one terminal is dead/blank on the Jag denso...... is there no functionality loss (dash gauge?) or something.

S terminal, sense is deadheaded on the Jag alt. Internal sensing vs oem external.
