if you look at the pics it doesnt sit flush to the tcase.... and it has nothing to bolt to in front, so it bounces around

the skid plate looks like it has been around for awhile. Did you get it used? if so contact the person you bought it from, from the two holes at the front it looks like you are missing part of a bracket. Bud will get back to you, he has always got back to be in a few days...

um.....

you missed something very obvious here.. you have to re-use the stock rubber mount thats on your stock crossmember. The aftermarket crossmembers only replace just that, the thick inefficient stock crossmember.

As for the front flapping around dunno on that theres no missing bracket.

I went out and looked at the budbuilt skid plate/cross member I have for my '81, no holes to the front like on yours, also the material for the cross member skid plate looks to be much thicker than yours. So I went to bud built.com, from the pictures i saw on the website I am guessing that a Previous owner mounted part of a transfer case skid from an IFS set up, the two holes at the front would have connected to the front portion of the skid plate that covered the IFS and strengthened that part that is flopping around...long winded I know...
