84 Truck 22r no power when key is on
Hey guys, new to the site and my first Toyota as well. I just picked up an '84 pick up 4x4 with a 22r. The guy that I got it from said that they had the truck running to load it onto a trailer but that they had to bypass something electrically to get it to start. This is my first Toyota so I don't know too much at this time about the motor, especially the wiring. I put a new battery in it and all the terminals are clean, anyone know what it may have been that they bypassed?? I called him and he can't remember what they did to get it to run. When you turn the key to the on position there is nothing, no dash lights no noise from a fuel pump, nothing. I haven't been able to find any lose wires yet but here in Wyoming it's below zero so it's kinda hard to crawl around on the ground looking. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There is a power wire that goes from the battery to the fuse box right next to the battery, that wire is a fusable link and if its bad or the wire is broken you won`t get power to anything, so check that first. I had an 84 4Runner with a 22R and i had this same problem, one of the previous owners did a hack job on this wire and i lost power to everything, so i had to replace that wire and everything worked fine when i was done.
