7 inch lift question.

I am wondering what the deal is when on the 7inch kits it says. You need to modify the steering arm to where the ball is pointing out of the top of the arm instead of down?

You need to get hi-steer if you lift that much.
In fact any solid axle truck should have hi-steer, its just a better design then the old version.

Below is a link to another thread in which I posted a photo of my steering arm with a Procomp 3" drop draglink. I had to go to the Procomp after installing an OME lift even though OME said that I could stay stock. Although the kit is supposed to be 2 1/2 inches +/-, I would say that it was closer to 4 in my case.

I tried to use the stock drag link by pressing out the draglink ball on the steering arm. We couldn't get it out and I didn't want to grind/weld, etc. and take a chance on it falling out at the wrong time.

For 7" I don't think the stock draglink will work even if you do flip the ball to the top. You need a drop draglink or go to hysteer.

A 14" lifted Toyota is NOT a clean lifted truck!!
7" leafs+3" body+(2"(longer then stock)shackles)/2=1"+ 3"drop hangers= 14"Lift.

Go with something closer to 4" Lift! You can fit as big of tires as you want(with fender trimming) and then you wont need an oxygen mask in the cab!

NO body lift.... with 7" of lift you don't need the body sitting any higher.

Different strokes for different folks? I know everyone cuts there fenders and thats the goin thing but then again I like my ride sitting above the tires. This is the look i'm going for.
