20r head on 22r block?

i am planning on putting putting a new motor in my 85 efi 4runner soon. i was wondering about a 20r head on a 22r block...reliability, horse power gain, does everything bolt up, any extra parts needed etc. feedback on this would be awesome, thanks.

your efi will not bolt up to the 20r head.

Not only that but, you can't just simply bolt on your 20R head onto the later ('85 and newer) block. Here: http://www.lcengineering.com/technot...&catid=3&id=17 --------------Hans

If you're going to be buying a new cam anyway, why not go with an aftermarket one that you KNOW will work with the EFI? The RE computer throws fits if you get too wild with your cam choice.
