Newbie here! Weber carburetor questions.

Just purchased a 1982 toyota pickup, it is the first carburated vehicle I have ever owned and im looking to expand my knowledge on the 22r and some carb info. Ive spoken with a few of my local old school mechanics and im looking at about $150 for a rebuild on stock carb, but I was told its easier and a better choice to spend the extra $75 and get a weber.
I am stumped on which carb to get so im looking for some insight from a yota pro

http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/Toyo...etors_s/41.htm

On webers website they list 3 differnt carbs for my truck, how do I know which one is a direct replacement for my stock carb? Any help would be greatly appreciated fellas! Thanks.

You'll need to decide between electric choke or manual choke on the 32/36 Weber.....

Thanks for the reply.

I'm guessing this is the correct kit
http://www.lceperformance.com/Weber-...-p/1030021.htm

And when I purchase this kit will I need anything else to make the install complete?

That will be everything you need but the adapter plate that comes with the weber likes to leak so I got the pro spiral adapter that the also sell and I love it no more vacuum leaks and they claim it gives you a few horsepower to good luck

Thanks for the help catfish, I plan on slapping a weber on in a few weeks and maybe she'll run a little better.

Is the manual choke a cable that you can route from the carb to the inside of the cab to pull by Hand when starting the engine?

Thank you Catfish21. I am looking into buying a 32/36 for my truck because of choke problems on the stock carb. Witch style choke did you put on your truck and how is it working for you?

so I have a 1982 fwd pickup and just got a 32/36 weber from weber direct manual choke. Is it a fake? My pickup has a automatic choke on it now, if I use the manual choke what do I do with the wires from the electric choke?

Dan, those connections can just be capped off. If you've gone with a manual choke and don't need electric, they're useless.

Everyone else, I've never seen a fake 32/36, all the fakes I've seen so far have been the 34/34's. just saying, the 32/36 I bought off my buddy and put on my '83 was a real Weber and the jets and synchronous kit fit just fine, never a problem(other than the cast spacers that came with the kit that someone else mentioned. I went with the LCE spiral adapter as well, and it's a great investment cause the Webers run like crap when there's vacuum leaks) He bought it from webercarbsdirect.com.

Johnny Boy,
That is mostly true, there are China knock offs out there and a Solex (sp?) built 34/34 is NOT the Spain built Weber 32/36 that people are ordering so you're not recieving what you thought you were paying for.

This:

Or this would be the way to go if you had not gotten the carb already. Has everything you need to do it right, including the FPR and the right adaptor:
