Maintenance Schedule for 20R chain

I'm sure this is around...but I didn't see it with a quick search. When do people usually figure it's time to replace a dual row chain?

I'm going to check mine out as best I can whenever I get around to adjusting the valves, but I'm just curious. The previous owners really believed that the engine only has 48,000 miles on it, but I'm going to be safe and just assume it's 148,000. So I'm looking into at least the oil and water pumps.

But I wonder, before I do any major travelling, if I shouldn't be looking into the timing chain and headgasket.

Great! I won't worry about it anytime soon, unless I think the headgasket needs attention. Thanks.

They don't; that's why Toyota went to the single row shortly after the switch to the 22R. ;-)

THIS is the beauty of doing the dual row .. you dont need to replace it ever , it will never "streatch" on you like the single row . BUT . The tensioner is a totally differant issue .. this is what will kill the whole thing , so as long as you have a good quality tensioner , your golden

.
