Improve your Brake Diaphram booster

The brake booster on 1st gen Trucks is pretty dang small and the brakes suck to begin with and throw bigger tires on there you are stressing a system designs for 225/75/15's. I saw this thread over on Pirate and thought that I would pass it on, relatively cheap and easy upgrade.. Thanks to drsmash for finding a great way to improve some brake systems that are getting old and tired
I will be doing this one soon...

Steering clears with no mods to the booster. Just remove the old booster and spacer take off a small spacer that has the gaskets on it and put it on the turbo booster thats it!

part # at napa: both 2 and 4 wheel 532460

the newer booster is a dual diaphram so it should improve braking dramatically.

did you change anything else when you did this? or is it ok to just change out the booster and leave everything else stock?

no I have not done this yet....please see the link to the original thread over on Pirate...from what I read there you only remove the thick spacer and it is a direct bolt in after you swap your master cylinder over...but I did check Napa today, new these things are $260'ish. I will be hitting the boneyard soon...

Al: that would be cool. I Know what you mean about stopping quickly..
It might be a little while before I could do it though. I just committed myself to having some fab work done in the next 2-3 weeks. Killer deal on getting my front bumper done and modifying the rear bumper to a rear swing out spare mount..

thanks Al, that price is pretty good. Replied to your PM.
As far as the bumpers it is a guy down in Mt. Angel, Derek of Revenge Fab.
I think I am gonna have him do my internal cage too.
He did all the tube work on this thing:

My front bumper will be something like this, with out the stinger being quite so high.
You might see it around town now, guess the guy that owns Black Rock Coffe owns this truck
