Fuel filter location on a 1979 4WD pickup?

Does anyone have a picture or diagram showing the location; or even a good description? I can't find a fuel filter anywhere on my truck, and I'm beginning to suspect that someone in the past removed and bypassed it. If I'm not just overlooking it and it really is missing, then I'd like to readd a fuel filter to the system, but I'd like to know where it is supposed to be located first.

I'd take a picture but my camera died last night. I can't even find it in the FSM...that's weird. Too easy to even be in the maintenance section?
I'd have to guess if you're having this much trouble finding it, it isn't there. If you sit down right under your gas cap and look up under the truck, it should be right there, on top of the frame. You should be able to find the fuel lines coming off the top of the gas tank, and if you don't find a filter along them...I guess it's not there.

Ok I found a diagram in the FSM but it won't show you any better than that explanation.

Does it bolt/screw to anything or is it just supported by the fuel lines attached to it?

I'd like to see the diagram from the FSM if you have scanner or whatever, and it is not too much trouble.

Mine has two, one near the gas tank on the frame rail and one on the wheel well near the battery.

Keep in mind this is an '83 FSM. I just today learned that some also have them in the engine compartment... I'm guessing this won't help much.

Thanks. I think mine was originally in the engine compartment though.

Here is a picture of my engine compartment. The arrow is pointing at a short section of copper tubing that is joining two sections of hose. Is that where the fuel filter should go? Is that even the right fuel line for the filter to go in?

Thanks. I got it installed, along with a makeshift bracket to hold it in place for the time being:

You sure?

Circled in red is the fuel filter
This is my old truck that had a 3" BL so to gain access to it w/o a body lift you'll need to take out the panel (circled in yellow) to get to it.
