so the 3rd gen bed is or isn't wider than the 1st gen bed?

So I know this is an old post but I was digging around today and found yall talking about my truck. The 3rd gen bed IS 3" wider at the front bottom and sticks out about 1.5 wider than cab on my truck. I didn't section it. just the paint and graphics help break it up in the pics. I am going to call Slacker tomorrow when I get time to see about a complete 82 fiberglass bed and shipping. I actually hit a deer in it and decided since I have to replace the front fender and valance that I am going to rip it down and try my best at restoring it correctly. My main reason for wanting a period correct bed is I bought this truck from my wifes grandfather and he wanted to see it its original glory before he passes. He bought it brand new in 82. Its has 152000 on it, ac still blows ice cold. so the wife is not going to fuss to much about me dropping the change on the bed. If anyone wants this 3rd gen bed as a direct bolt on around MS make me an offer. Its about to come off. No rust. Any questions about the bed swap just ask. Thanks
