32/36 dieseling when shut off
Specs: rebuilt motor, new 32/36, wide open exhaust.
do yall think the wide open exhaust could cause a dieseling when i shut her off? i tried to lean it out, checked all vacuum and no leaks. Im stuck!
thanks guys.

timing is set at 8 to factory specs; by dieseling i mean when i shut it of it does an extra revolution on its own. im thinkin lack of back pressure is the cause, it didnt do this till i hit a deer and it ripped all the exhaust off, ive had trucks in the past run wide open like this with no problem, just never a 4 popper. think its that sensitive?

Is your linkage not fully going back all the way or is the choke semi on still? If my rmps are over say 950ish when i shut it off it will diesel for a sec or 2

Hmm...it possibly could be because of no back pressure.
BTW...Nice bike! I've got an '01 sv650s...they are excellent bikes.

Try and sweeten up (richen) the idle mixture. Leaning it out will only cause it to diesel more often as a lean condition is more prone to pre-ignition hence ignition before it has a spark to ignite it.
