Moab UT - Fins N' Things and Gold Bar Rim

Well, I have to start out by saying, I love Moab. It's such a cool city. This weekend is the second busiest weekend of the year, there's a big car show that goes on, but I didn't mind the crowds, there were some sweet cars anyway. I ran Fins N' Things with my friend and his family (they rented two jeeps), and then later did part of Gold Bar Rim. Unfortunately that was all of the trails I had time to do, hopefully I can go back soon, it was a blast. Pictures...

Towards the beginning of Fins N' Things

I lifted the right rear for just a second apparently, I didn't even notice. My friends dad had his right rear up about a foot before he let it roll through and come back down, scary moment.

front bumper = good --> rear = scraaape

watched a guy almost kill himself on an atv a minute before on this spot, he was an idiot

i have a weakness for the old broncos, i want one so bad

gold bar rim: my favorite picture

poser

i almost made it up, and i totally wouldve tried more, except i kept remembering i'd be driving it home a thousand miles the next day

the end

Great trip, I'm already planning on going back and doing strictly offroad related things.

Best pic of the trip, IMO. :

MOAB is always great... whether on 2 wheels or 4.

Thanks man, i do have to say that was a fun spot haha. I really want to go back, but looks like I'll have to settle for some good ol' texas wheeling. I miss the mountains already and I haven't even been back here for 24 hours.

I think GBR is my favorite trail out there - all those big ledges are FUN!

Yeah I liked that trail better than fins, but it made me realize just how important gearing and lockers are. There were some spots that I knew I probably couldn't make it up, but I just went for it anyway, had I been geared and locked, I'm sure I would've made it up a lot more of those lines. They'll definitely be one of the first things I do to the next rig.

BTW - how did you get to GBR? We did the Poison Spider, Golden Spike, GBR loop ... been there, done that, no need to do that again! I think Golden Spike is my most UNfavorite trail in Moab ...

To get to GBR you head north back up the highway for about 7 miles until you see a dirt parking lot on your left. you go through the parking lot and follow the dirt road that will curve back south. You then take a right and follow it up to this large ridge and follow it all along that until you end up in a high valley kind of thing. You make your way through there to the trail head and there are signs I believe.

Exactly. Every time I look at the pictures, I want to go back and do it again but try some more difficult lines. I decided I need atleast a month to do everything in Moab that I want to do haha
